Let Go
The past,
our beautiful friendship slips from your hands
like the sand from our fingers that warm summer day. Easy conversations wasted away,
While awkward words take their place.
We smiled, now we smirk.
We laughed, but now we chuckle.

At times I know you feel the same. I can see the confusion and loneliness, in your big brown eyes.
Don’t worry I am lost as well; still mesmerized by the person I thought you were.
Yet, finding my way back is hard to do,
without you by my side.

No more talks, and secrets. No more togetherness. Time has past,
you have moved on.
But I have not,
and never will,
Let go.
