I Have Sinned

Today I have spoken too many words and yesterday I said too little
bite the hand that fed you or kill he who stands in the middle.
I planted a garden with dead flowers because of my grave dug beneath
why love somebody, who one day will bury you six deep.
I have shed my own blood from the past that i've reaped.
I say "i hate who I once loved and love who i still hate."
my world will come too an end, but I will control the date.
Father know what to do with me for I have sinned today
give me my cross for this is my price to pay.
I give reason, I pierced the heart that pumps my blood, my blood that runs blue
I have brung shame to my name and ripped the flesh that I am "De La Cruz."
By testimony I still say that this man I do love, with my mother he set away
to breathe a new breath, to make the man I am today.
So i must go and cannot stay
a burdened individual, this is my price to pay
I stay strong in the guilt of my sin
That death seeks today!

Elmer--You are amazing! You can post here anytime! I am blown away once again by your poems--keep on writing! Always! I especially love the first line; I don't think I've read a published poem recently with as strong an intro. Your poem grabs and never lets go.
