Love Triangle
I am a rose ready to be certain
waiting to be right with the world
It started when I saw you
seeing your every move
the more I stared at you
the more I hated you
then in a blink of an eye
I fell for you
turning my hate into love
unexpectedly, not wanting to
I hate you for making me like you
then there's the other
absorbing my every thought
putting doubts in my head
Are you the one?
No.
Could you be?
Maybe?
I used to be certain till I met you
I like you
No him
I like you a lot
But in the back of my mind
I see him
coming back fiercely
I know I should just pick one
But in my heart I
I'm the rose ready to be straightened

Hi Mali,
I love the metaphor of the rose and how "certain" in line one is echoed in "straightened" in the last line. Roses are sometimes used as symbols of perfect beauty, but you make it more complicated. I'm sure it still symbolizes beauty, but I love the idea that a rose isn't "certain." It doesn't last forever, it's not in control of what goes on around it, it's a little bit fragile. Deep stuff!
Keep writing!

Very deep thinking and such honesty with your mixed emotions.
That is so critical to good writing
and you've crafted it well with strong words.
I love your poem! It's so complicated and intresting at the same time.At first it didn't make any sense to me, but once i read it again, I really liked it!
